Comparison may be the thief of joy, but I’m also a big believer in celebrating the wonderfulness in other people, and being encouraged by other’s successes and sunshine.
So in that spirit, I thought I’d share a few of the people I’m loving on Instagram right now.
Did you see that cake I made for Ivan for his birthday? Shocking in comparison, but it was so much fun to make (and eat!!). I never would have attempted something so involved if I hadn’t been inspired by Katherine. Incidentally, she’s also a very sweet gal. A few weeks ago, we went along to The Flour Market in Sydney where she (and others) had all but sold out (after only being open a little over an hour! Maddness). Anyway, she very kindly offered the boys her last bag of chocolate buttons on the house. What an ace lady! (You can click on the link above, or search for @katherine_sabbath).

I find myself drawn to mothers of many, and Shalice has four littlies. Now, I get that that would give her a pass to slouchy jeans, trackies and hoodiesville for the next few years (at least), but instead, this mama is all about making style choices that brighten her day, and encouraging other mothers to do the same. Also? The majority of her wardrobe is thrifted, so major bonus points there too. It may seem superficial, but for me, making an effort with in this area really does lift my mood. And if something so simple can affect us positively, it’s well worth the (small) effort. (You can click on the link above, or search for @shalicenoel).

You know how I said I’m drawn to mothers of many? Well in particular, I often find myself gravitating to mothers of many boys. Who knows why? I follow a number of mothers of many men on instagram, including @thetinytwig, @pinkronnie, @lifelovehiccups, and @gourmetgirlfriend, but I’m focusing on Ruth Simons here (mother to six boys, huzzah!), because not only does she inspire me with her insight into parenting boys, but she’s also so uplifting of her husband too. Not that the others don’t love their husbands, I’m sure they do! But she makes a point to consistently uplift and appreciate her husband, and I love that. As much as we can feel like we value the significant people in our lives, it’s so important to actually put that into words, to communicate it. This lady has got to be one of my favourite people to follow. Another mother of many, I cannot understate how she encourages me, reassures me, inspires me, and makes me think. I am always excited when I see a post from Tiffany.
I found it really difficult narrowing down what words of hers I was going to include here, as her honesty and wisdom seems to spill forth with everything she writes. Honestly, I feel like I could have closed my eyes and pointed and whatever I ended up with would have been equally as good. She is always encouraging. Always uplifting. A drink of cool water in the sometimes sweltering motherhood desert.
I could say more, but I really encourage you to look her up and get lost her words. (You can click on the link above, or search for @thegraygang).

Our daily grind is holy ground. I just love that. It’s so true, and so important to remember.
( A special thanks to all the lovely ladies here who graciously agreed to let me use their photos).
Is there anyone special you’re loving on Instagram at the moment?
