About

Welcome! This is us (in one of the three family shots we have).

Why yes, we are all looking in the general direction of the camera. Stars aligned.

Well hello! I’m the one with the ovaries. I live with my truly gorgeous and magnificent husband, Ivan, our three beautiful and hilarious young sons, and (currently) five chickens (and now four quail). I don’t have the stickers on my car, so you’ll just have to trust me. Oh, and now we have a baby on the way! All signs point to ‘boy’.

We live in glorious Sydney, although love to get out when we can, and I’m sure one day we’ll end up some place with a quieter pace. Some place where I’ll have horses and Ivan, ducks. But not just yet… for now it’s still time to drink up the wonderousness of Sydney.

Ivan and I met in mid 2003 and married in 2005. I credit most of the ease in our marriage to his gentle spirit, but also a little bit to coffee, wine and the amount of sugar in my cooking. But mostly him.

Whoa, why does that guy look so young? Oh, he's only 21? Okay. Keeping that average age of marriage down.

2008, 2010 and 2012 saw the arrivals of Harry, Wyatt and Flynn. These three: our raison d’être, not in the sense that they are the earth to our moons, more in that our life is now heightened, fuller, more vibrant and scary with them in it. And so with them our new life was born.

So delicious!

So delicious!

As a family, we try to have an ethical existence of sorts, making some small and some big steps where we can, when we can. You’ll read about some pretty simple and practical ways we’re choosing to live sustainably, frugally, towards a more minimalistic life, and the mistakes we make too! In every day, we try simply to be faithful in loving each other, other people, our planet and God.

We’re also all about living purposefully and injecting a little magic into our family life, so maybe you’ll be inspired with a few ideas.

Other than that, you’ll find photos, updates on our family, recipes, musings on motherhood, children, marriage, friendship, civic duty, faith, ethical responsibility … actually I don’t know why I’m making a list, I should just say ‘randomness’. Xx
